A geocomposite is a combination of geogrid and nonwoven fabric and is a technical composite material widely used in civil and structural engineering.
Product Description: Geogrid-Nonwoven Combination
The combination of geogrid and nonwoven fabric (also known as a combination grid or combination mat) combines the advantages of both materials in a single product that performs reinforcement/stabilization as well as separation and filtering functions.
Geogrid Component
Material:
Typically made of high-modulus polyester yarns or polypropylene yarns with a polymer or PVC coating, or of uncoated polypropylene (PP).
Functions:
Reinforcement: Increases the bearing capacity of the soil.
Stabilization: Prevents soil displacement and improves load distribution.
Deformation Resistance: Reduces settlement and cracking.
Nonwoven Component
Material:
Typically made of bonded polypropylene or polyester fibers.
Functions:
Separation: Prevents the mixing of different soil layers.
Filtration: Allows water to pass through but retains soil particles.
Protection: Serves as a protective layer for sensitive waterproofing or other geosynthetics.
Applications
Road and path construction
Railway embankments
Support structures
Landfill and drainage systems
Rivet and slope protection
